THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS ISSUED BY

I would like to convey its ongoing concern regarding the violated situation in Sri Lanka.

The outcome in regard with the military engagement between the Sri Lankan Security Forces and Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam should not be considered as an excuse to prevent Tamils from their legitimate right to self-determination.

We therefore call upon the Tamil Diaspora to show maximum restrain in regards to the ongoing events in their homeland and appeal for unity and peaceful means to express their disappointment on the current events in Sri Lanka and appeal to both sides to come to a peaceful agreement.

The Royal House of Jaffna will closely monitor the situation and might undertake appropriate steps.
