RAMADAN MESSAGE ISSUED BY
HRH RAJA REMIGIUS KANAGARAJAH OF JAFFNA

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh

I extend my greetings and good wishes to all Muslim Communities in Sri Lanka and around the world on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. The month of Ramadan is a Happy occasion; it is the month that the Muslim Holy Book, the Quran (Koran), was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad by God. Muslims are called by their religion to celebrate the month by coming together in worship, fasting each day for thirty days from dawn until sunset.

Islam is a religion of peace and that strictly forbids the killing of the innocent people. It is time to end all attacks against civilians and I urge all countries around the world to come forward to build a harmonious world of lasting peace.

May the blessings of Allah fill your life with peace, joy, good health, wealth and prosperity.
