THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT WAS ISSUED BY
HRH RAJA REMIGIUS KANAGARAJAH OF JAFFNA

I would like to express my deep concern about the shooting of the two students Sundiraja Sulakshan and Nadaraja Gajan attached to the University of Jaffna, on Thursday night by Sri Lankan Police. They were innocent students who were returning home that night after attending a private party. I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to the family members and may the departed souls rest in peace.

The Law Enforcement Officers in Jaffna should ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. We must not allow history to repeat itself. Also I am very concerned about the present situation in the country.
