Your Eminence,
I am deeply saddened by passing away of His Holiness Pope John Paul II. As the Catholics around the world mourn His loss we must remember, His great effort in promoting world peace. Especially during his visit to Sri Lanka in 1995, His contribution of strength and encouragement to the people of our country has aided us in our fight for peace.
His compassion for the Tsunami victims has given courage to many people who were in loss of home and family. It is very unfortunate the loss of a great Holy Leader. On behalf of other members of the Royal family of Jaffna, the people of Sri Lanka, and myself, please allow me to extend Your Eminence our deepest condolences at this time of grief for all Christians around the world. I assure that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of mourning. May the Soul of our Holy Father His Holiness Pope John Paul II rest in peace.
May God Bless you,
Yours Sincerely,
Sgd/. Prince Remigius Kanagarajah.
