Historical Monument of great importance of Nallur Rajadhani.

On 23rd of February I had a telephone conversation with the Mr. Bandula Jeewa (Assistant Director) of Department of Archaeology of Jaffna, regarding the structure called “Manthiri Manai” (Minister’s Abode) a heritage site and surviving section of the Royal Palace complex. A building structure collapse is a serious issue that can sustain severe injuries and public safety is important. Therefor I have strongly requested not to allow any visitors to visit “Manthiri Manai” (Minister’s Abode). The structure could collapse, Department of Archaeology of Jaffna has taken necessary steps and the Royal Palace complex remains sealed off.
