A Year Since the Tsunami Disaster
Monday 26 December 2005
Arya Cakravarti Dynasty
A whole year has past since the tragic event in form of devastating Indian Ocean "TSUNAMI" earthquake struck Sri Lanka and neighbouring countries.
I would like to retaliate my thanks to both the Governments and the Non Governmental Organisations for the aid extended to Sri Lanka, as well as all individuals who have contributed to the reconstruction and recovery phase of the country.
We still mourn the departed ones and will never forget them. However we have to look into the future, a future with peace hopefully, a future with understanding between people, a future for all of us. The peace process must go further! It is my sincere wish that as citizens of Sri Lanka we all should join hands and live in peace and unity.
This disaster did not only affect Sri Lanka, but an entire region from Indonesia to India and from Sri Lanka to Somalia and my heart is with all people who suffered losses.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish the People of Sri Lanka all the best for 2006.
May God Bless You All.
