Your Majesty,

I am writing to you in the capacity of the Head of the Royal House of Jaffna. Being the Head of the Royal House of Jaffna, it is my duty to assist and support the People of Sri Lanka. I am taking this step to kindly remind Your Majesty of the difficult political situation on the island that has become more and more unstable since the relation between the two parties committed to the Cease Fire Agreement sign in 2002. I would like to convey my deepest concern about the recent escalating violence and civilian frustration.

The help of your government is essential in creating an atmosphere wherein both war-making parties can come closer to each other in order to lay aside their difference and work as equals on a final Peace Settlement which will bring sustainable peace to all citizens on our island. I would like to request Your Majesty to put pressure on both parties to reinitiate face to face talk to improve the situation for the people of Sri Lanka and to reduce the violence destroying all possibilities of a peaceful solution.

The People of the North and East have severely suffered by the decade of the war our trust in resolving it is in the hands of the International Community and especially the facilitators of the process.

Hopefully Your Majesty shares the concern of the Royal Family of Jaffna and will convey this concern to the Norwegian Government and the people involved with the Peace Process of Sri Lanka.

Please accept Your Majesty, the assurances of my highest consideration.

May God Bless You,

Yours sincerely,

Sgnd/. Prince Remigius Kanagarajah
