The following statement was issued from the Rajadhani Nilayam, by H.R.H. Prince Remigius Kanagarajah. I am very concerned about the present situation in the country. Many civilians have been wounded and killed in the recent escalation of violence in the North and East part of Sri Lanka.

I urge to stop all air strikes, artillery fire attacks and shelling immediately. Both parties must reinitiate face to face talks in order to improve the situation for the people of Sri Lanka and prevent further loss of innocent lives.
